Micah is 3!

Micah Jr turned 3.  I can't believe so much time has passed.  We had a little party with a few friends and family at the park.  It was a great summer day, not too hot with a little breeze.  As usual, Micah scored with presents (hence the few friends-he already has so much!)  We are so grateful for the wonderful people in our lives that take the time to share our celebrations with.

Mairead is Here...and is now 8 weeks old

Its been a busy 8 weeks since Mairead arrived.  She didn't come on her own so just as with Micah we had to use force!  We went into the hospital Tue night (May 17) and started the inducement process- by the by everything went smoothly with that-and had our little girl in our arms on my birthday (May 18) by 3:31 pm.  It was a great birthday and we were happy to finally have her here with us.

She came out at 9lbs 2 oz and measured 21 1/4 in.  She beat Micah Jr out in both categories! He was 8lbs 10 oz and 21 in.

She is now 8 weeks weighing in at 12 lbs 2.5 oz and 23 in.  Looks like Micah beat here out for this growth stage, he was 12lbs 5 oz and 24 3/4 in.  Both are all stars!

She has been a great baby-sleeping most of the night-waking to feed-and then back to sleep.  She is a little more high maintenance- she likes our fingers in her mouth over the paci-its nice when she does take it, give our fingers a break-likes to be held in the lap over the swing- but who can blame her.  Shes a doll.

Micah Jr has given her the nick-name of "Baby Gorgeous" a name that is sticking, along with "Sweet" -derived from mommy saying "Sweetie."

We are trying to get out of the house often so Micah Jr has time to stretch his legs-the Denver Zoo has been that out let at least once a week-Marty bought us a member pass for our family-it's been great to have.  Mairead usually sleeps through the event but I think will grow to love it just as much as her brother.

May 10-Due Date

Nope-sorry to report that Mairead has not come.  Not much of a surprise. I was late with Micah by 11 days, didn't think she'd come early or on time.  Oh well-she'll be here and in my arms by this time next week-through force or on her own.  So for now you'll have to be satisfied with pregnant belly pictures.

Yep me and my Aunt Jamie are pregnant again at the same time-only this time around I am a head by two weeks and she is not finding out what she is having. Ha ha-how this reverse. Here's to hoping Mairead has a playmate that will want to dress up and have "tea parties" with.

Callie, Nikki, and Melanie-three of my greatest friends threw me a baby shower. It was a ton of fun with many wonderful women who have touched my life were present.

Ya gotta admit, some pregnant pics just aren't very flattering.  Oh well.

1 day to go...

or perhaps she'll linger a little longer.  Baby Mairead has yet to make an appearance and my body has yet to produce signs that it is happening anytime soon.  May 10 is the projected due date, but we know that it is just a projection, doesn't mean its defiant.  Micah was due on July 19 but ultimately had to be forced out and he made his appearance on the 30.  After speaking with my doctor the reality is that while there is still a chance she will come this week we will be likely making the appointment to induce for next week.  I will have my appointment to see just how much, if any, I have progressed in the last two weeks.  I will most likely have to go in the night of the 17th in order to "ripen" the cervix and then start the pitocin to induce contractions on the 18th.  For those that know me that is my birthday! So I will be the lucky momma to share her birthday with the first Davis daughter.  I am actually really excited at that prospect. If she is indeed the only daughter I end up having we will have a very special day to share together.

While it may be disappointing to still be pregnant the day before and possibly after my due date, the bright side is that I have been able to accomplish my school work.  As of today I only have to put the finishing touches on my last research paper and take a Biology Final-an essay quiz. Ultimately, I have been blessed in being able to have the time to get what I need done and to have been able to do it well.

That being said...

here's to waiting to hold her in my arms.

Update

I am 38 Weeks pregnant this week. I went in for my appointment today and have not progressed since my 36 week appointment- 1 cm Dilated and 40% Effaced.  Made me sad. This doesn't mean anything, a lot can happen in two weeks. I am farther progressed than I was ever with Micah but I was hoping that this time around I'd go on my own.  If it doesn't happen and I have to be induced I will be okay with that...the semester will be over and school work will be done.  This week was the most critical for Micah, but I still have two research papers to do, so maybe this is a good thing.  Well if my body decides to hold her hostage than I guess I shall just have to be induced so she will arrive on my birthday-I think that would be cool, mother and daughter sharing a birthday.

Belly pics yet to come.

Adventures in the last couple of weeks

This Tue I will be 37 weeks, I had my 36 week appointment last Wed and everything is looking great. I am 1 cm dilated and 40% effaced- which is a lot more progressed than I was with Micah. (1/2 cm dilated on the due date and 11 days after when induced) I am excited. I sure hope she'll come on time and on her own. Everyone says the second one is easier-so we shall see.

We've also got 3 more weeks in the semester-crunch time! I have 3 papers to write and two finish 3 labs and 3 quizzes. Keep your fingers crossed that we can finish everything we need to do before she arrives.

Here are some of the latest adventures in Micah Jr's life:

This is a Thomas Helipad Mega Block set that Nana Marty bought for him.  He loves to play with it frequently and usually plays so rough that he cause the tracks to come loose-which then its "Mommy fix it."
I put together the crib for Baby Mairead (Maw-raid - rhymes with parade), this way its all set for when shes ready for it and I don't have to do it later. But since I put it together...Micah Jr has been sleeping in it and through the night I might add:
Since we've been back at Nana Marty's Micah is enjoying every minute he can get out side in the back yard. He particularly likes to play in the dirt and with the rocks.

He also like to chase Gertrude (Marty's Pug) around, it brings him great satisfaction.

And that is the latest in our world. I'll be posting pics of the pregnant belly as soon as I am able. And hopefully soon Baby Mairead will make her debut.

Picture Update

I'm behind...here are some pics from Christmas up until now.

This car was given to Micah by his Grandma and Grandpa Anson- a you can see he loves to sit in it, on it, and just about anything else while watching a movie.
