Making Faces with Mommy
Micah is a very animated baby boy. As his Aunt Stacy has commented, "He is practicing for his career in being Professionally Good-looking" He is officially 3 months old now, he is measuring in at 26 inches, that's 5 inches since birth. He's gonna be a tall handsome boy.
He is striving to lift himself up when he is in his car seat or in our laps, he likes to see everything that is going on around him...it is amazing to watch his development.
Halloween
This year we were blessed with the birth of our son, Micah Jr. So many people have asked what will we call him, considering he bares his Fathers name, well my response has always been, "I call him punkin (pumpkin)" So it is only appropriate that we have little Micah Jr be a pumpkin for Halloween. He looks adorable! What a great year it was for Halloween, first time in over 10 years that we had a snow free Halloween. We didn't go trick-o-treating, that we will save for next year, when hopefully he can walk and enjoy it for himself.

Shake Rattle and Roll
Micah Jr. has discovered how to hold on to his toys. We have given him his rattle before but he didn't really seem to care. Now that he recognizes that there is something in his hands and the sound that it makes when shaken, he has quite the time with it.

Baby Conversations
Mr. Micah has had a lot to tell us lately. He is gravely concerned about the current affairs of the world and wishes to address us about them.

Oh So Loveable
I don't think I'll ever get over the cuteness of Micah's grins, the smiles and the "Grump-A-Lump-A-Gus" faces. He is so very animated that we can't help but laugh when he changes from look to look. Babies are sure entertaining.
We are on our last week at home together. Next Monday it's back to work. I'm not eager to get back but I do miss the kids I've worked with. (For those of you who don't know, I work at a child care center)

OPPOSITE PROVERBS
Here is something interesting. Next time somebody says a proverb, you can respond with an equal and opposite proverb.
1. Too many cooks spoil the broth
Many hands make light work.
2. He who hesitates is lost.
All good things come to those who wait.
3. Birds of a feather flock together.
Opposites attract.
4. You are never too old to learn.
You can't teach an old dog new tricks.
5. Clothes make the man.
Never judge a book by its cover.
6. The best things come in small packages.
The bigger, the better.
7. Slow and steady wins the race.
Time waits for no man.
8. Doubt is the beginning of wisdom.
Faith will move mountains.
9. Never put off till tomorrow, what you can do today.
Don't cross the bridge until you come to it.
10. Its better to be safe, than sorry.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
11. Save for a rainy day.
Tomorrow will take care of itself.
12. Life is what we make it.
What is to be will be.
13. What good is for the goose is good for the gander.
One man's meat is another man's poison.
14. The more, the merrier
Two's companies; three is a crowd.
15. The best thing in life are free.
You get what you pay for.

A Boy and his Daddy
Another reason to love the man in my life, or should I say men. Micah Jr. is creeping up on being 6 weeks this Wednesday, with that said he is developing right on "schedule" with his social smiling, especially when he sees his Dad. As Micah takes to Jr. we see a huge grin grow across his face and he starts to coo in response. We are smitten! These two are quite the pair.

Our Baby Boy is one month old now. Amazing how time slips by us. I find it interesting that over my last 6 weeks of maternity leave, my days are filled with just me and Micah Jr. and they go by so fast, we're not even doing anything! But when I was at worked the week dragged on (or so it would see) forever. Well, I'll be back soon enough, September 29. Right now I'm back at school, I am taking 3 courses, Spanish 211 (my last semester of the doggoned language), Humanities 123 and Literature 115. I've only had one class period of Literature (its a Friday class) but I think it is by far my favorite, mostly because I enjoy the art of Literature and it's many forms. Baby Micah has been cooing a lot more lately and has begun over this last week or two to smile at me and his dad. We get a kick out of his grins and especially his grumpy faces. We have coined the term grump-a-lump-agus and refer to it when he hits us with a series of these looks.

For those who want to know
Baby Micah Jr was at birth 8lbs 10 oz and 21 inches long. When we went for his 2 week check up he had gained his birth weight back (he dropped to 8lbs 1 oz by the Monday following his birth) and is now 9lbs and 22 inches. He is our growing boy.

One Week Old
Today is our baby boys one week mark. He is keeping his mom and dad entertained with the funniest faces. He had his first bath, which he wasn't fond of, but recovered nicely. He loves to cuddle with his mom and loves it when dad sings to him. He likes to play with dads fingers. We are adoring or little one and are very excited to watch him grow.

Baby Micah is here!

Time for FORCE
It has now been 9 days since the anticipated due date of Baby Davis. Micah and I have been trying to wait as patiently as we can, but are anxious to have our little one here. Per Doctor Isbill we will not be letting the pregnancy continue any longer and will be forcing the little one out starting tomorrow evening. As per my apt. today the Baby has a strong heart beat, is getting plenty of oxygen and is still moving around like crazy...all good signs. But to prevent anything from going sour we can't wait for nature to run its course. We will be putting up pics as soon as we can!

No Sign of Baby
Tomorrow is the due date of our little Baby Davis, however after having my "last" prenatal exam today it seems that this Baby is not about to come out very soon. We have scheduled the induction for July 29...they hope Baby will come before that. While disappointed that Baby won't be here this weekend, I trust that everything will work out for the best and will be okay. Sorry to disappoint all of you who are on the edge of your seats, you'll just have to sit back a bit and wait. We will let you know when Baby arrives.

My Pregnant Belly
By popular demand I have finally released the illusive pregnant belly pictures!

These top two pictures I had taken today while at work. Yes, I know 10 days left and I don't look that big...what can I say, I hold it very well.

This picture is of me and my Aunt Jamie. She is or was 17 days ahead of me. This pic was taken 8 days before she had her baby boy.

As for Micah and I, we are doing great. This month we will have been married for a year and a half. While we are very excited for the arrival of the baby we have been having a lot of fun together. I'm taking summer break from school, but will start back up in the fall...19 credits until my associate's degree. Micah works at Steenrod and Associates (a law firm) in Denver. We are still trying to figure out our next move, but we want to make sure it's where the Lord wants us to be. Wish us luck!
Waiting on Baby
We are officially in the count down to welcome Baby Davis into the world. 12 days from today we should be expecting or have our little bundle of joy. My pregnancy hasn't been hard or with any complications, as long as you don't count swollen feet, calves and ankles or pressure on the sciatic nerve. Baby shifted so the sciatic nerve feels fine once again.
We intentionally did not find out the sex of the baby, we wanted to experience one of the few surprises life brings. No inclinations as to what sex we think Baby is, but one thing is for sure, we will have an active one on our hands! As for names, we are pretty sure we are set on Rhys James Nephi if we have a boy, and Mairead (Mar-eed) Jeanne Elizabeth if we have a girl. Lets hope we stick with the names!
